Hey there everyone!!! Just thought I’d fill you in on the books that I am currently reading! For my three classics I chose To Kill A Mockingbird, Animal Farm, and Of Mice and Men. My contemporary novel is titled The Host, and it is by Stephenie Meyer. To Kill A Mockingbird and The Host are my two new favorite books. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for something wonderful to read! They are very addictive, and as most of you know, Stephenie Meyer is an exceptional writer. In my own personal opinion, I think that The Host is better than the Twilight Saga!
The Host is about inhuman “souls” who try to take over the human race. They take human bodies, and use them as their own. Some would say they possess the body. The humans are the hosts, and they don’t have much say in how their life is taken over. One host (human), Melanie, is very aware of what the souls are trying to do to her planet. Her and the ‘soul’ controlling her body become connected over time, by Melanie’s memories and the love for Melanie’s family and friends. They begin to deal with each other and live life as one. They go through the battle of trying to save the planet they both now love, and I can’t give anything else away! All I can say is that if you haven’t read it, then what are you waiting for?!
